Free concert in Southbank

This weekend I had a lot of activities to present everybody because I really love to join all activities in London as much as I can.
First of all, I want to talk about free concert at National Theatre in Southbank. I went there with my friend on Friday because she is a big fan of Jazz song so I decided to came with her. When We got there I was so surprised with atmosphere and all of instruments on the stage, it's very impressed. Afterward, the Canadian band name Katya Gorrie Trio started to sang a jazz song but the things I noticed was they have just one guitar and double bass, that's very fantastic.
Anyway, this is just one example concert that I recommened. You can join these concert very easily by check it out in this site www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/whatson

The plan of the weekend

Hey everyone~~
Here is the plan of this weekend~

About CONTENT:

1. Watch the changing the guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace

This ceremony is one of Britain's main tourist attractions.

But on the other hand, there will be thousands of tourists crowding outside the Buckingham Palace.
So we might miss the most parts of the ceremony and maybe just can see the guards passing by.
As Simon said it might be a little bit boring, so whether join this activity or not depends on you.

2. Have picnic in Hyde Park
Hyde park is one of London's finest historic royal park as well as a great place to have a relax.

We plan to have a picnic there, in addition, play some interesting games for fun and also free chat to improve our spoken English.
We hope everyone could join this activity~

If you decide to take part in this activity, please bring some food and drink with you, cook some thing will be great. We are so looking forward to taste the food you cooked, and of course your hometown flavor will be awesome!

PS: We are also going to buy some drinks and some food from the supermarket near the Hyde Park, So you don't need to bring to much with you:)

About TIME & PLACE:

Sunday, 19th July

1. If you want to watch the changing the guard ceremony in the morning, please arrive at Green Park tube station at 10:30am.

The Whole ceremony will begin at 11:00am at St James's Palace and Buckingham Palace.

ECCA WORKSHOP

I participated in ECCA Workshop at Davies Street on 15th July.
This session set out to provide you with tips on self-promotion from a creative business and example of web 2.0 tools that you can use to develop your profile.

For your information, ECCA(Enterprise Centre for the Creative Arts) is the University of the Arts London service that provides support to students and graduates that want to freelance or set up a business in the creative industries.
You can find some more details on this website >>> www.ecca-london.org

The workshop was made up of two parts. The first part of the workshop was a presentation of Bunch Design which is one of the successful creative design company that was set up in 2003, from a group of London College of Communication graduates. Two designers visited for the workshop and they carried out their presentation. I think it was a just common presentation to explain their design works, but their design works are obviously excellent. They also pointed up that web 2.0 is one of the best way to promote your work from their experience such as blog , website and so on, in addition to making showcase book, it can help you impress other people. They said even if some people just put your showcase book on the bottom of room, it could remind you a few weeks later.

http://www.bunchdesign.com/

In the second part of the workshop, another lecturer provided me several useful websites where are easy to access as well as for free for self-promotion. In these websites, you can promote your work through your portfolio or profile on the online. In addition, you can make networks with other artists and designers. And some sites offer advice and education, and also feature opportunities such as art prizes, awards and jobs.
I put up the list for you.

Brighton

This weekend I went to visit Brighton and Coventry with my cousin. Brighton is a beautiful ocean city and it takes about 50 minutes by train from Victoria station. There are lots of small lanes curved near the ocean, also many amazing shops inside, which sell different kinds of things. Besides, Brighton museum& art gallery is nearly to the transtation, where is stand by the Royal Pavilion. It is really sad for us because the museum was closed and the royal pavilion was in restored but we still enjoyed the beautiful scenery and decided to visit there again next time.

Billingsgate Market

My friends with me got up very early and went to the Billingsgate Market yesterday morning, because there is the wholesale fish market for London. It operates from around 5 in the morning till about 8.30 am 6 days a week (Tues - Sun). So I had to got up early in order to buy some seafood .It is very cool at there . I bought a few of crab ,prawn, hairtail and so on , we asked about a large lobster-sized prawn to be told the whole box costs £12.5. So we bought the whole box of prawn and I think it is very reasonable price . To my surprised , one large crab is only £1 .I was very tired yesterday but I am very pleased to go there and I can eat very delicious seafood.

Chinese ceramics/British museum

Hello, everyone! I am Weixuan from Beijing, China . I went to British museum yesterday. So I would like to share some Chinese ceramics' photos for you.

Frankly, I was shocked by those traditional Chinese ceramics, which I have never seen them before. These traditional ceramics were considered high-tech from mining the clay, shaping them, firing them, painting them, and packing them for shipping. People from all over the world wanted these wonderful treasures. It is an honor to show you the porcelain manufactured from Chinese ancestor!

Regent's Park

Yesterday I went to the Regent's Park near the Baker St. Station with Emma. It's a big park with huge lawns, grand trees and beautiful flowers quite like Hyde Park. Many local citizens were playing ball games and enjoying the sunshine in this park. It deserves to be mentioned that there is a really gorgeous Rose Garden in it. It's incredible and just like the paradise in the fairy tale. But it seems that the roses there will fade away in several days. So if anyone want to see it please be soon~
